I strongly believe that the body and the mind are intimately connected. I have a background in psychiatry, and I am constantly amazed by the way the body and the mind influence each other. When there is physical pain or illness, the mind suffers, and when the mind is not well, there are physical effects. This mind-body connection has been explored by many practitioners in many ways, and I feel that acupuncture and Chinese medicine can greatly contribute to the healing of the whole person. Traditionally, acupuncturists do not make a distinction between the physical and the psychological, and in my experience, the best results come when the practitioner focuses on the person as a whole. I encourage you to consider how your physical state has affected your mental state, and how your mood and emotions have affected your body. When you are nervous or upset, does your stomach feel unsettled? When you experience chronic pain, do you begin to feel depressed and irritable? If you would like to explore this further and begin to heal your entire body and mind, please contact me so we can work on this together.
The purpose of my practice is to make this elegant medical system available to anyone who desires healing and wellness of the body and the mind. Please visit my website, http://www.YunkerAcupuncture.com , for more information.
