Cheryl Hochberger, LCSW, CHC is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Health and Wellness Coach. Cheryl works with clients who suffer from various psychological ailments including eating disorders, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, OCD, autism, sexual addiction, trauma, drug addiction and disability. Her special area of interest is eating disorders and emotional eating. Cheryl helps her clients to uncover and understand the root of their disorders. She believes that unhealthy behavioral patterns are often an individual’s attempt to fill a void resulting from dissatisfaction in career, relationships, finances, spirituality, or life purpose. Healing happens when clients begin to understand where their issues are coming from, thus allowing them to gain control over their mind and body and ultimately mastery over their lives.
Cheryl received her masters degree in Clinical Social Work from Columbia University. She completed her Clinical Internship in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy at Long Island University and gained further experience in Forensic Social Work at The Legal Aid Society in Brooklyn. Cheryl obtained certification as a Holistic Health and Wellness Coach at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and training in Food Therapy and Natural Culinary Education at the Natural Gourmet Institute. Cheryl completed 2 years of Post-Graduate education and training in Eating Disorders, Compulsions, and Addictions at The William Alanson White Institute for Psychiatry, Psychoanalysis, and Psychology. Before beginning her private practice specializing in eating disorders, emotional eating, food allergies and intolerances, she worked for a private practice, Kennedy Counseling and Wellness. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree from New York University Stern School of Business.
